Art, an expression!

As any artist would say, art is a form of expression for me. However, I do so by abstracting it so that my interpretation may not necessarily be conveyed to the observer, leaving them open to numerous interpretations. Much of what I do on digital medium took inspiration from abstract realism —an art style I practiced and developed over time on canvas.

More often than not, I develop a preliminary concept with a certain degree of uncertainty, which I later like to explore while painting on the canvas. Through this artwork, I explored the use of palette knives—which I primarily used to create textures—and developed it as and how it took me forward.

While conceptualising an artwork, I leave maximum room for interpretation of how colours are presented on canvas—specifically in terms of what kind of strokes I use and how they blend (or don’t) with each other. I've explored the technique of dabbing to gently blend one colour over another while maintaining a certain level of distinctness to each colour used in this artwork.
